YG Acoustics has unveiled the new Invincible 3.1 and Invincible 3.2, its latest ultra-high-end active sub-bass systems. Successors to the Invincible 21.1 and 21.2, the new models introduce the company’s newly developed FormCore driver technology together with an optimized amplifier capable of delivering up to 6kW.
According to YG Acoustics, the new Invincible models were designed to achieve greater efficiency and even lower distortion than their predecessors, with the emphasis placed not simply on producing more bass, but on improving scale, depth and realism across the entire musical presentation.
New FormCore Driver Technology
The most significant change in the Invincible 3.1 and 3.2 is the introduction of YG Acoustics’ new FormCore driver. Combined with a large motor system, FormCore is said to advance the performance of the company’s previous BilletCore bass driver technology by improving efficiency while further reducing distortion.
The outgoing Invincible 21.1 and 21.2 used YG Acoustics’ distinctive BilletCore technology. Their 53cm, or 21-inch, aluminum diaphragms were machined from aerospace-grade aluminum billets using the company’s in-house CNC equipment, an approach intended to provide exceptional rigidity and precise pistonic behavior even with such a large radiating surface.
YG Acoustics has not yet disclosed the diaphragm material, diameter or manufacturing process used for FormCore. It therefore remains unclear whether the new models retain the previous 21-inch format or introduce a substantially revised driver architecture.
Optimized 6kW Amplification and More Than Six Years of Development
The new FormCore driver is paired with amplification capable of delivering up to 6kW. While the 6kW output figure itself was already associated with the previous Invincible 21 series, YG Acoustics says the electronics and control programming have been optimized specifically for the new driver system.
The development process reportedly took more than six years and included extensive simulation, measurement and repeated listening tests. YG Acoustics says the electronics and programming were refined to deliver exceptionally fast response and low distortion while reproducing the lowest frequencies in music with a natural sense of scale and weight.
Designed for Integration Rather Than Excess
YG Acoustics emphasizes that the Invincible 3.1 and 3.2 are intended to integrate seamlessly with a main loudspeaker system rather than simply add more low-frequency output. The company describes the new models as delivering effortless bass and extremely fast transient response while supporting, rather than overwhelming, the rest of the musical spectrum.
This reflects the Invincible series’ established role as a sub-bass loudspeaker for full-range high-end systems rather than a conventional home-theater subwoofer. Its purpose is to extend reproduction into the lowest octave while maintaining the speed, precision and tonal integration expected from YG Acoustics’ Reference Series loudspeakers.
Detailed Specifications for the 3.1 and 3.2 Remain Undisclosed
YG Acoustics has confirmed the existence of both the Invincible 3.1 and Invincible 3.2, but has not yet published the exact driver configuration of each model. The previous Invincible 21.1 used a single 21-inch driver, while the 21.2 employed two large bass drivers, but it has not yet been officially confirmed whether the new 3.1 and 3.2 follow the same configuration scheme.
Driver diameter, frequency response, DSP and crossover specifications, dimensions and weight have also yet to be announced. At the time of writing, YG Acoustics’ official Reference Series pages continue to list the existing Invincible 21.1 and 21.2, while dedicated product pages for the new Invincible 3.1 and 3.2 have not yet appeared.

Official pricing and availability for the Invincible 3.1 and Invincible 3.2 have not yet been announced. Given the positioning of the previous Invincible 21 models among YG Acoustics’ most ambitious Reference Series products, the new generation is expected to remain firmly in the ultra-high-end category.
The most important aspect of the announcement is therefore not an increase in amplifier power, but YG Acoustics’ transition from its long-established BilletCore bass technology to the newly developed FormCore platform. Once further details about the FormCore structure, materials, driver size and performance become available, the technical differences between the new Invincible generation and the outgoing 21 series should become much clearer.
