The 4CD+Blu-ray Audio box combines Bernie Grundman’s remaster, Eddie Kramer’s new 2026 mix and 100 previously unreleased tracks or mixes
KISS has announced a 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition of its 1976 album 《Rock And Roll Over》. The new box set includes four CDs and a Blu-ray Audio disc, with 130 tracks in total, including 100 previously unreleased tracks or mixes.
The set is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026 and combines the original album remaster, a newly created stereo mix, demos and outtakes, archival live material from Japan, and extensive Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround content.
Original Mix and New Eddie Kramer 2026 Mix
The first CD presents the original 1976 stereo mix in a new remaster by Bernie Grundman, created from the original stereo analog tapes.
The second CD features a completely new 2026 stereo mix by Eddie Kramer, the album’s original producer. This gives listeners the opportunity to compare the familiar original presentation with a newly reworked version by the engineer who helped shape the record in the first place.
The third CD contains 22 demos, outtakes and alternate mixes, including material related to 《I Want You》, 《Take Me》 and 《Calling Dr. Love》.
Newly Mixed 1977 Japan Live Recordings
The fourth CD focuses on KISS’s 1977 Japanese tour.
It includes 18 tracks selected from the band’s performances at Budokan, including 《Detroit Rock City》, 《Cold Gin》, 《God Of Thunder》, 《Rock And Roll All Nite》 and 《Black Diamond》.
The live material has been newly mixed from the original multitrack recordings.
Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and 192kHz/24bit Blu-ray Audio
For audiophile listeners, the Blu-ray Audio disc is arguably the most significant part of the set.
The original 1976 album mix is presented in newly created Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes, while the stereo version is available in both 192kHz/24bit and 96kHz/24bit PCM.
Eddie Kramer’s new 2026 mix is also included in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround and 96kHz/24bit PCM stereo.
This makes it possible to compare the original and newly created mixes not only in stereo, but also in immersive and multichannel formats from a single disc.
More Than a Conventional Anniversary Reissue
《Rock And Roll Over》 followed the more elaborate production of 《Destroyer》 with a more direct, harder-edged rock sound. The album includes some of KISS’s best-known songs, including 《Calling Dr. Love》 and 《Hard Luck Woman》.
The 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition goes well beyond a standard remaster by combining an analog-tape-based remaster, a new 2026 mix, extensive unreleased session material, newly mixed live recordings and multiple high-resolution surround formats in one package.
KISS 《Rock And Roll Over 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition》 will be released on November 6, 2026.
