Justus Eichhorn – The Source

The 16-year-old pianist and composer makes his DG debut with repertoire ranging from Bach and Liszt to original works, with a Dolby Atmos version also available

Deutsche Grammophon has released 《The Source》, the debut album from 16-year-old German pianist and composer Justus Eichhorn. The album is available digitally, on CD and on LP, with a Dolby Atmos version also offered on supported streaming platforms.

The release marks the beginning of a longer-term collaboration between Eichhorn and Deutsche Grammophon.

Classical Repertoire and Original Compositions

《The Source》 includes works by Bach, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Hindemith and Richard Strauss, alongside three original compositions by Eichhorn that receive their world-premiere recordings on the album.

The program also includes reinterpretations of music by Czerny and Vivaldi, giving the album a broader scope than a conventional debut recital.

Also Available in Dolby Atmos

For audiophile listeners, the availability of a Dolby Atmos mix is particularly notable. Deutsche Grammophon has increasingly adopted immersive audio for major new releases, and 《The Source》 continues that approach.

Atmos is not necessarily preferable for every piano recording, but it provides an alternative presentation that can make greater use of hall ambience and spatial information in compatible multichannel systems.

《The Source》 was released on September 11, 2026, and is available in digital, CD and LP formats.
