Beyerdynamic has introduced the new AVENTHO Y wireless over-ear headphones, combining active noise cancelling, Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity and more than 90 hours of battery life.
Rather than competing primarily on advanced Bluetooth codecs or spatial-audio features, the AVENTHO Y places greater emphasis on everyday usability and long-term ownership. The battery and ear pads can both be replaced by the user, while pricing starts at €149.

Closed-Back Design for Everyday Listening
The AVENTHO Y uses a closed-back over-ear design aimed at music listening, video, work and general entertainment.
Beyerdynamic has designed the model around its familiar sound signature while keeping the overall form suitable for extended daily use. Frequency response is specified at 20Hz to 20kHz, while the headphones weigh approximately 316g.
Four finishes are available: Liquid Black, Blue Fusion, Peach Blush and Soft Jade.

More Than 90 Hours of Battery Life
Battery performance is one of the AVENTHO Y’s strongest features.
With ANC disabled, playback time exceeds 90 hours, while more than 60 hours is available with active noise cancelling switched on.
Fast charging is also supported, allowing several hours of listening from a short charging session.
That places the AVENTHO Y among the longer-lasting wireless headphones in its price class and makes it particularly suitable for travel, commuting and extended work sessions.

User-Replaceable Battery
More interesting than the headline battery figure is the fact that the battery itself can be replaced by the user.
The battery is located inside the left earcup and can be accessed after removing the magnetically attached ear pad. This means the headphones do not need to be discarded or sent for major servicing simply because battery performance declines after several years of use.
The ear pads are also replaceable, helping extend the usable life of the headphones.
For wireless headphones, where battery degradation and worn ear cushions often determine product lifespan before the drivers themselves fail, this is a particularly practical design decision.

Bluetooth 6.0 and Multipoint Connectivity
Wireless connectivity is based on Bluetooth 6.0.
Multipoint support allows the AVENTHO Y to remain connected to devices such as a smartphone and laptop at the same time, making it easier to switch between music playback, calls and work applications.
Wireless range is specified at up to approximately 20 meters.
The Beyerdynamic app provides access to sound adjustment, ANC and Transparency Mode, along with other device settings.

SBC and AAC Only
The Bluetooth codec lineup is notably simple.
The AVENTHO Y supports SBC and AAC, but not LDAC, aptX Adaptive or aptX Lossless.
That contrasts with Beyerdynamic’s higher-end AVENTHO 300, which supports more advanced wireless codecs including aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless.
As a result, the AVENTHO Y is better understood as a practical everyday wireless model rather than a headphone designed primarily around maximum Bluetooth transmission quality.

Built for Long-Term Use
The AVENTHO Y takes a somewhat different approach from many current wireless headphones.
Instead of focusing on the widest possible codec support or increasingly complex feature sets, Beyerdynamic emphasizes long battery life, replaceable components, Bluetooth 6.0 and multipoint connectivity — features that directly affect how convenient the headphones are to own and use over several years.
The absence of advanced high-resolution Bluetooth codecs may disappoint some audiophile users, but the replaceable battery and ear pads address one of the most common long-term weaknesses of wireless headphones.
The Beyerdynamic AVENTHO Y is available in Liquid Black, Blue Fusion, Peach Blush and Soft Jade, with European pricing set at €149.
